The Tillandsia Bulbosa truly is a dark beauty of an air plant. It features lovely tendrils that are a gorgeous shade of deep green that appear to move and wave as you admire it. The Tillandsia Bulbosa is a beautiful addition to any home or office. Some have said that it resemble a sea creature with its smooth, long arms. I recall the stories of Medusa, from Greek mythology and her wild hair full of snakes. Its leaves are flat and form a fun bulbous shape at its base, and wind out to its long outstretched arms. Its base leaves are often highlighted with a lovely shade of plum and will produce a bright red bloom when it flowers.

Are you hoping to encourage your Tillandsia to grow, to change colors, or to produce (air plant babies called) pups? Then this is the perfect addition to your air plant care routine!

Each jar contains a 4 year supply of Tillandsia Fertilizer.

Adding fertilizer to your Air Plant Care program is an excellent way to encourage growth, color change, and pupping. Would you like to watch a slideshow of how to use it? Then click here.

The best way to use the fertilizer is to dilute 1/4 tsp of the fertilizer into 1 gallon of water and to soak your air plants in the water as you normally would.

For smaller Tillandsia varieties like the Tillandsia Juncifolia, Ionantha, Bulbosa, and Caput Medusae that you would typically only mist, you can also soak them which is when you would apply fertilizer. The only thing to be aware of is that the smaller, xeric varieties tend to rot easier, especially if they have overlapping leaves like with the Bulbosa and Caput Medusae. Simply invert the plant post soaking, give it a good shake to release any trapped water, and let your plant dry upside down for a few hours.

I recommend fertilizing only once a month in the summer to avoid stressing out your Tillandsia.

There are some Tillandsia Fertilizers on the market that are applied through a spray bottle. I do not recommend them for a variety of reasons. If you do decide to go that route I would do so with extreme caution.

Nutrients are derived from Ammonium Phosphate, Potassium Phosphate, Ammonium Sulfate, Potassium Nitrate, Ammonium Nitrate. Manganese from Manganese EDTA. Iron from Iron EDTA. Zinc from Zinc EDTA. Water Insoluble Organic Nitrogen from Blood Meal and Kelp Meal extracts.

The Tillandsia Houston Dark Pink is a stunning large air plant variety. It has dark mauve to violet coloring, and when it spikes and flowers it produces an incredible light pink bloom. The photos are examples of a more mature Houston and what you can look forward to seeing.

Air Plants are incredibly low-maintenance plants. They absorb the majority of their nutrients from the air through their leaves, and are perfect for those with less-than-green-thumbs, or are forgetful when it comes to watering.

This little Air Plant is the ideal Tillandsia for terrariums, glass ornaments, Himmeli as well as any shallow cups or bowls. It has layers upon layers of the prettiest silvery-green leaves, and an adorable round shape. It will have the most beautiful violet flowers, and when in bloom the plant will turn a bright red!

The Tillandsia Ionantha is native Nicaragua, Mexico, Costa Rica, and certain areas of South America. It can also be found growing in the wild in the Southern United States in Texas, Florida and California.

This extra adorable air plants features layers of the softest, fuzziest leaves. Absolutely unlike any other air plant. The silvery-white colored "fuzz", also known as trichomes, naturally reflects sunlight, which essentially shields the plant from direct sunlight to help it from drying out.

The Tillandsia Tectorum resembles that of a desert plant, and does not require any soakings, only mistings 2-3 times a week. It prefers drier, less humid, warmer environments.This air plant is particularly special and can go long periods of time without water.

The Tillandsia Velutina is a beautiful plant. It has a beautiful, rich green coloring. It also features an all-over flocking, giving it a luxe, almost velvety touch. The Tillandsia Velutina is a beautiful addition to any home or office. It's leaves are flat and seem to stretch out and fill the container that holds it.

This unbelievably beautiful Air Plant is the perfect Tillandsia for cups or bowls of any kind, or to simply sit on its own on a coffee table or a desk. With its full, strong, silvery leaves, the Xerographica is a show stopper. As the Xerographica grows, it's arms extend and curl and wrap around itself. Its strong leaves are wider at the base and grow into skinny little arms.

This air plant is also surprisingly hardy. It enjoys the direct sun in the summertime, and also likes being both indoors or outdoors, as long as the weather is mild. This specific air plant will also grow quite a bit, but the spiraling arms will keep it mostly self contained in size.

The Tillandsia Xerographica is native to Mexico, Guatemala and Salvador. There they can primarily be found hanging on the highest branches.
