A floating Dove in a sea of blue, printed with brilliant rice and soy-based Risograph inks.*

Risograph is a fascinating medium that uses actual ink, unlike laser jets, which is why I'm able to achieve this brilliant yellow and blue in my prints. Additionally, the colors are transparent, which is why I'm able to overlay inks achieving new hues.

Risograph printing is extraordinarily environmentally friendly, where the screens that are used are made from rice and banana leaves and the inks are derived from rice and soy.

This particular illustration was drawn by hand, redrawn with each layer separated and scanned, and then printed here in Seattle.

DETAILS

  • 8x10" Print
  • Creamy Ivory 90lb. Paper
  • Printed with Yellow, Pink, Black and Blue Ink on four screens
  • Open Edition Print
  • Each Print is signed on the bottom of the print along with the title
  • Hand drawn by Samantha Leung

Please note: Due to the nature of Risograph, where each layer of color is printed one at a time, your print may differ slightly from the photo. This is called misregistration and is one of the most charming aspects of Risograph Printing

*The latest run was printed from a digital file which has a smoother blue background than pictured here.

This mesmerizing and intricate mobile features eight miniature prisms and a mini diamond that are suspended to spin independently of the other. This particular design was inspired by Easter European floral chandaliers called Pajaki.

Originating from the Swedish word for sky or heaven, himmel, the Himmeli are a traditional Finnish ornament, a mobile decoration that is traditionally made out of straw, or rather reeds in Finland. They are typically extremely ornate and are traditionally suspended above the dinner table during the holiday season. It is thought that the larger the Himmeli, the larger the rye crop will be in the coming year.

This piece is the perfect addition to any dining room, baby's room as a modern mobile, or in any room where you would like to add a sculptural element that will dance and twirl in the breeze.

    Materials: brass + wire
    Dimensions: w 9" h 16.5" (22.9 x 42cm)

This Himmeli has 1' of co-polymer clear cord attached.

The Himmeli will also naturally oxidize and darken as time passes, but can be polished to its original shine.

Long, hot summer days, warm air filled with the heavy scent of flowers, the low buzz of pollinators, drunk and lazily flittering from flower to flower. That was the feeling, that was the moment, that was the scent memory I wanted to capture.

I worked with my unbelievably talented new friend Kacie @kaciemcmackin of @kingsanddaughters to hand make these beautiful bars of soap here in the Pacific Northwest.

        • Cold Processed
        • The soaps are made primarily from olive oil (which dries hard, cleans well, and lasts a long time), coconut oil, canola oil, jojoba oil, shea butter, castor oil, and cocoa butter.

        • French Clays in Pink & Green
        • Topped with dried wildflowers

Are you looking for a beautiful, minimalist way to hold and display your growing enamel pin collection? Then this lovely, handmade pennant is the banner for you.

These Original Pin Pennants are handmade in the HEMLEVA studio by Samantha and Andy with 100% merino wool, a solid Oak dowel, and suspended by an incredibly strong Cotton cord.

Depending on the size of your pins, this pennant can hold between 25-50 enamel pins.

Merino wool is a biodegradable and renewable material, that is naturally moisture and stain-resistant. The wool that I use is also LEED® certification as MR Credit 6.0 Rapidly Renewable Resource as the sheep's wool is harvested in a sustainable manner.

Please note • These are all hand cut by Andy and sewn by hand by Samantha, so inventory depends on a few variables including the supply of wool.
