Tillandsia Brachycaulos Air Plant

Featuring wide, thick, strong leaves that are an incredible and vibrant green, the Tillandsia Brachycaulos resembles the top to a pineapple! It will produce many layers of strong leaves that transitions as it grows.

The flowers themselves are a beautiful purple with slight yellow coloring. It is also one of the few varieties of Air Plants that can manage the strong rays of the sun, and develop new colors when exposed to direct, natural light.

LIKES //

To be misted 1-3 times a week, and a weekly bath - where it is submerged in tap water for at least 15 minutes. Up to an hour once a week in the summer time, and 15 minutes once every other week in the winter time. More often and frequent in the summer months.

Enjoys indirect sunlight, and tolerates small amounts of direct sunlight as well.

DISLIKES //

Soaks that last too long, trapped water in between its leaves - so after a soaking or a heavy misting, make sure you turn it upside down and shake the excess water free. You can leave the air plant upside down until it is fully dry before placing it back in its home.

WHERE IS IT FROM //

The Tillandsia Brachycaulos can be found in the dry cloud forests of Mexico, Venezuela and Panama.

It will develop luscious red and pink hues when the plant blooms.

FUN FACT //

When the plant blooms, it develops a gorgeous deep red coloring. And will also experience color change with exposure to direct sunlight.
