So many of us battle moments of self-doubt, uncertainty, and even imposter syndrome. We often times keep them to ourselves, battle them alone, and feel alone in our thoughts.

I wanted to create something that we could use to help replace our negative thinking patterns with important and powerful positive ones.

These removable, reusable and adhesive-free Affirmations can be affixed to clean glass and mirrors. Both the front and the back can be affixed - so you can place the message somewhere for you to read, and reread to help to shift your perspective and to increase your self confidence.

Place one on your bathroom mirror where you get ready every morning, place one in your car inward facing for yourself, or outward facing for those that are walking by that may need a reminder. If your computer screen is a glass top, place one there to remind you as you work. They can even be affixed to stainless steel refrigerators to serve as a quick reminder as you prepare your meals and snacks throughout the day. Affirmations have the power to reaffirm positivity, and to remind you of what you're capable of. I hope these sweet window clings serve as a reminder of how unbelievably capable you are.

The Anthurium clarinervium is a beautiful variety native to Mexico. It is known as a lithophyte, which is a plant that grows on bare rocks and stones. Their roots anchor them to the rocks where they thrive.

This plant, with the dark green almost velvety leaves is a stunner. It has bright veins that almost look golden in the light.

The Begonia maculata is an incredibly striking plant. The head-turning leaves resemble that of angels’ wings, with polka dots that appear to be painted on. It has earned several nicknames, from Polka Dot, Clown, to Spotted.

The Bird of Paradise is a gorgeous tropical plant, and makes for a lovely addition to any tropical garden. It is also known by its scientific name, Strelitzia. It is commonly referred to as a bird of paradise due to the flower and its resemblance to a bird of the same name.

This pin was inspired by my first trip to Maui. Along the Road to Hana you can see a number of Monsteras climbing trees, forests filled with towering Bamboo, and the bright and beautiful Bird of Paradise surrounded by its lush, dark green leaves. The card back is a photo that I took while I was there. You can also see a few White Birds of Paradise flowers at the base of the card back.

Have you heard of "Forest Bathing" before? It's a common practice in Japan, where even doctors have prescribed the act. It's when you go out to the woods, and spend time outdoors, in nature. While a few hours is ideal, even 15 minutes can show results in improvements in your health, memory, lowering your cortisol (stress hormone) and can make a significant difference in depression. 

“The intent of forest bathing is to put people in touch with present-moment experience in a very deep way,” explains clinical psychologist Susan Albers, PsyD. “The sights, sounds and smells of the forest take us right into that moment, so our brains stop anticipating, recalling, ruminating and worrying.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic "If you don’t have access to green space at all — or if you just can’t get enough of that forest feeling — try bringing the outside in. Spruce up your space by... Burning a woodsy-scented candle or using an oil diffuser to fill your room with the smell of trees. (A 2009 study showed that simply being immersed in the scents of the forest may have a positive impact on your health.)"

And in reading that exact statement, I was inspired.

I wanted to create a candle to ground you, to help you - and me too, to find a way to pause, to slow down, to feel like you're surrounded by Japanese Cypress Trees and Eucalyptus, even if you can only find a moment to steal away in your half bath, or to smell the candle unlit - in your car - before you run into work - or back home to your to do list.

I wanted to make it small and portable, and I wanted to be clean. So I worked with my friends at Summit & Terrace, a wonderful small business that’s also based out of Seattle, to make these into a reality. Made with coconut and soy wax. ~ 20 hour burn time.

Whether you are a fan of THC, Hemp or CBD, Cannabis has a fascinating history around the world. There is strong archaeological evidence reinforcing the belief that cannabis was domesticated 12,000 years ago, and there is written record by the Greek historian Herodotus about the cannabis steam baths that were common at the time. In 3rd century AD, Daoists in China would similarly burn cannabis in incense burners.

Hemp has also been grown for rope, cloth, paper, and many people may remember those hemp necklaces that were all the rage in the 90s.

The adorable but painful little cactus is known by several names, Cholla, Cylindropuntia, or Jumping Cactus.

Native to the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico, there are more than 20 different species of this sweet shrub-like cactus.

They are notoriously known for their ability to "jump" onto animals and people with their barbed spines. It allows them to hitch a ride to find a new home.

This beautiful pin comes with a very strong Neodymium Magnet, making it a sweet pin that you can use as a needle minder, or to be worn as a pin without the concern of making holes in your clothing.

A a sweet Coneflower in brilliant rice and soy-based Risograph inks.

Risograph is a fascinating medium that uses actual ink, unlike laser jets, and the colors are transparent, which is why I'm able to overlay inks achieving new shades and hues.

Risograph printing is extraordinarily environmentally friendly, where the screens that are used are made from rice and banana leaves and the inks are derived from rice and soy.

This particular illustration was drawn by hand, redrawn as a digital file, and printed here in Seattle.
